Largest Shark Ever Found

After our exciting step for the foundation, we went to the south of India. We visited Hampi, a town with a fascinating and ancient history. From the tenth century until the sixteenth century was the cradle of a great empire, which defeated once fell into disrepair. Today is a Pequenho people, ideal for walking and relaxing and full of monuments of its glorious past.

We stayed near the town, crossing a creek in a boat Pequenho that is making gold. I sincerely believe that some of their abundant earnings are reinvested in dynamite to boycott the progress of the reconstruction of the bridge that is currently in ruins. Here we see the butt-load small boat with motor included defying the laws of physics and common sense.

In the hostel there was a magnificent restaurant where vagueamos chill-out most of the time, we met two brothers malaguenhos ex-stewardesses and a Pamplona, and we had a great time together chatting and watching the hours. Zapateados there, we saw a mantis stick so well camouflaged that it was hard to believe it was a living being. We spent half an hour gawking seeing as it moved until we felt sorry and left quietly.

the monuments we visit I'll take both. The elephant keeper Virupaksha temple, which accepted donations deposited into the holes in your trunk, passed them on to their carer and immediately blessed you with a gentle whack on the head.

And second, within the Vittala temple complex, the precious stone carriage chairs the patio, and columns of the temple music. Each has its sound when struck lightly, do not recommend to check the erosion caused, but the security staff themselves does and then asks for a "gift" ... incredible India.

The adventure to get to the train that would take us to Goa is not wasted. The train left at 6 and manhana average from Hospet a town that is about 25 km. road to Hampi and India ... the thing promised. As at 5 there was no regular boat service, arranged with the boatman a special service with a "specials" of course.

after losing to the malaguenhos and Pamplona, we managed to regroup at 5 and a half to cross the river which Cuban rafters in a kind of pan-driven float boatman's oar (no motor used to not go quietly ... , which offenders).

Once past the river odyssey, started the earth ... "Kingcobra" so called autorickshaw driver with which we had been, or hopefully not so late or found another tourist who paid more and Piro, the fact is we were thrown and we had just over half an hour for the train (in my mind roamed the times I had read in the guide: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 06:30 ... it was Saturday so it took three days for the next train ... if they had seats ... ufff)

started to negotiate with the few drivers awake at that hour, and as these people are merchant from birth, knew that we had caught by pellets ... pay 50% more than the spoken word with "Kingcobra" fill to the ears two rickshaws (5 people with backpacks) and all milk into the station.

We arrived at the station 10 minutes before the train, but the other rickshaw appeared not in fact arrived at the station almost simultaneously, but they on the bus ... caught another tuktuk and appeared in the station 2 minutes before departure. We threw ourselves on the seats of the train and sleep the stress path of Goa, the last stronghold of Portuguese India in the Arabian Sea coast.

From the beaches of Goa, the Lonely Planet does not speak very well, in fact generally speaking ill of almost all the beaches so far ... they are all very touristy and developed, the writer must be a direct descendant of Robinson Crusoe. .. conclusion, sometimes go to the "off-track." Sometimes a bit of development makes life easier, provided they do not bother too much.

Influenced by the fence looking for somewhere not very well known and therefore more empty, we went to Betalbatim. A beach resorts dominated by two quite took away the charm, too much current for banhos and a rather high average age ... that if we saw a buffalo on the beach banhos surprising. We spent a night and still looking.

Agonda We arrived, a fishing village with a huge beach and few tourists. It seemed perfect ... the trouble is that in India the locals go to the beach and even very tapaditos Banhan they dressed, so it's a little uncomfortable feeling observed in a bikini (so says Marta, think not bad). In fact it seems clear that many men are only going to look at the tourists and they do all the effrontery of the world. But after all these in your country and something similar happened not long ago in the Swedish Espanha the East Coast ... no?.

The last day we decided to go on an outing to Palolem, waiting for a scrum of tourists. To our surprise the beach had half inning and was without doubt the most beautiful of the three that we saw by far. In addition to the bikini issue, not bad to feel a little wrapped up by other tourists ... if someone comes to Goa I would recommend Palolem in March.

From Goa we went to Bombay, a city full of contradictions. This is where lives the creme de la creme of Indian society, from top executives to the glittering stars of Bollywood, this makes it an expensive city for tourism. We ensenharon authentic budget holes provided terminanos most expensive spending the night across India in a hostel owned by the Salvation Army ... that name so appropriate given the situation!

other hand, Mumbai also has the largest shantytown across Asia, where crowded living more than 5 million people. Here's where Vicente Ferrer began his struggle newcomer to India, now in his biography remember a phrase that struck me: "In the most abject poverty is where you find the equality and solidarity, fed to the elderly, everyone celebrates wedding for all and all grieve and mourn the dead. " It's amazing that these people yet, give us lessons in humanity.

We visited the nearby Elephanta Island which beautifully portrays the saying "If Mohammed does not go to montanha, the montanha going to Muhammad." And is that here as elsewhere in India, instead of taking the stones to build temples, the temples built by caves in the rock and did so with amazing detail.

culinary As noted in this area we have to talk about the fish. Once aroused a fresh fish we headed to the small pieces of beach in Goa and we call a "Pomfret," thanks to the waitress showed us all the fish in a tray to pick eye. It was delicious and as you can see I had Indian touch (spice bag) ... for the most food scholars have guessed that India and Tandoori style was so red is the poor.

This was our last stop in India, and to be your honest, we were looking forward and change of scenery. La India country is a hard and intense, and after 7 months of accumulated travel, these 40 days here we have found stressful. Namaste!

now where we think we left Thailand for 15 days to enjoy the "dolce fare niente" in one of its beautiful beaches in the south.

This is all from the front, "tango-charlie-bravo, the bird has left the nest." Kisses to all.

Martin and John.
