Happy New Year! Merry Christmas

With a little delay and we wish you all: HAPPY NEW YEAR!
The main reason why we have taken to write is that we have a couple of days twiddling their thumbs on both hands in a small hotel IM-pressive thanks to many people who are now reading the blog. Thank you very much to everybody for making these two backpackers enjoy a few hours of luxury that are not used.

But one thing:
After Christmas in Byron Bay we stopped at Newcastle, according to the English that we have nothing to do with its English namesake. The Newcastle of Australia is a paradise for surfers and Kitesurf, like most of the east coast is a place with lots of wind and waves, but also with beautiful beaches and salt water pools by the sea.

cream smeared over his ears banhos we found some sun, waves and also of those who loves John. The trouble was that he pick a jellyfish, a blue bottle such that not one of those that are dangerous to the north, but he did pretty Pupitar judging by the seven kinds brand him on the back. The type of rescue spoke with you said "welcome to Australia" just before nailing in the sand Senhal From Danger, jellyfish (a good hour).

Near Newcastle is a nature reserve, this time if koalas could see a bit more closely, but in captivity clear. Psycho's face that I have only explained by the great desire I had to play one, and they are so cuddly and soft as a teddy bear, the adjective currinho falls short in this case. Koalas live in around 15 anhos because from that moment her injured teeth can not chew the leaves they feed. In this female, called Susan and has 18 anhos, give it a milk supplement that will give you something to survive longer.

also visited the Hunter Valley is the area's largest wine producer in Australia, and of course, we took a tour of the wineries tasting the local wines, plus cheeses, olive oils and chutneys ... the case was tasting. We discovered a grape that did not know and called Semillon (presumably from France). This wine wise, in our humble palate, much like Albarinho!. Cris has confirmed me here if they sell fairly Albarinho, perhaps because, unlike New Zealand, here you already know the taste. Most curious was to test Sparkling Semillon ... when a sparkling Albarinho? Now I remember reading somewhere that someone, Combarro believe, had started building it in the family plan. This is only the beginning, sorry for the cava and champagne!

and preparations for the feast, we took a bus the same day and arrived at Sydney 31 to noon. Here we find ourselves once again with Simon, the English that we have seen in four different countries. We had prepared the program of events from beginning to end and beginning, of course, to reach the port as soon as possible to get a good seat from which to see the fireworks. Once seated we were 9 hours waiting near the Opera House, trying to kill time as best we could while getting dark.

may seem excessive waiting time, 9 hours for 10 minutes of fireworks, but the show is downright impressive. There are times when one does not know where to look, no longer at night for a moment the glow of thousands of explosions of color on the bridge, on the buildings and in various parts of the bay. Since the videos are too heavy but I can not include that you see as you get a picture that I borrowed from my friend Laetitia facebook, that you see is the Harbour Bridge in full explosion of the fireworks end.

After the fires, we went to party at the home of a friend of Simon. We spent the evening with a national copichuelas a rum called Bundaberg, very good, surrounded by people everywhere: in the photo John, Simon, and two Irish. As dawn here on the 4 and a half, thinks one that has a huge stamina for partying, but we are still many hours to get into the hotel (we reserve the 31, but 1 and 2), here you John playing chess at 8 in the manhana, I went to sleep directly on the table.

Finally, after rigor calls home when there were in full party and kill a little time to eat something, we reached the hotel at 13:00. To our joy the room was ready ... need not describe the emotion we felt when we saw the kingsize bed.

From a plant 23 with a view to the Sydney tower, spent two days in a cloud. We were in tears of emotion when we saw the huge banho to ourselves full of little boats with shampoos, soaps and creams.

We did what you told us, and we slept like ceporros fregoteamos well behind the tabs to get us shine, we were camaraderie and shiny.

With such a hotel, Sydney step into the background. We left very little to do any message, the rest of the time enjoyed the swimming pool, jacuzzi, the Turkish banho, sauna ... The breakfast was Ordago and are useful to store some reservations with eggs, bacon, baked beans, cheese, salmon, cereal, toast and all that we were able to swallow. In the afternoon we were given a cocktail canapes with (these people are able to take a copazo at 5 pm) that it was our dinner. So ... luxury. Insist grateful to you for all those who have made this possible, I assure you that we have fully exploited. THANKS.

But nothing is perfect and everything nice just ... is over. Try to chain me to the foot of the bed did not work. The input buttons were in amazement as, with great sadness, hung out with our backpacks and caught a bus to arrive, a few blocks below, to our hostel. As they say, but hard the fall when we find our 10-bed dormitory partly occupied by the clothing, food and general rubbish in our companheros of room. You can see the bunk in which I sleep (above) over a fairly guarrete English whose clothing scattered hinders access to my bed, even above the husky boy ... to mourn, thank goodness we have caps.

Back to normal, we started planning our visit to Sydney have until January 12 to enjoy it ... but that's another story.
