is a super modern city that reminded us a lot to Sydney. It has many rides glued to the river with a mix of skyscrapers and old colonial buildings that complement each other surprisingly very showy. Maybe it's because the massive skyscrapers are not gaudy but cuadradotes mills architectural shapes.
only thing wrong with this city from my point of view, is the amount of surreal standards that exist for the 'right' daily life.
We
In the evenings, tired and so many prices and gadgets, we took a couple of really cool rides. In one de ellos, terminamos llegando junto a una estatua muy famosa de Singapur: el "merlion", mitad pez, mitad leon. La comparan con el "manneken pis" de Bruselas, el entorno desde luego es bastante mas bonito que el belga.
As could not be otherwise, much of the rest of the day we spent on a train to Malaysia. So we again had dinner picnic and cakes with candles, to the rhythm of the rattle of the engine (a little violent at some stages of the trip).
To whet the appetite, we tested some of the typical specialties of the area with mixed success. The "satays (kebabs) and" Popiah "(a kind of spring roll but with the crepe-like outer) were very rich, however the" laksa "which was a kind of soup we do not really like curry. To end we tested the carrot cake, that does not carry more CONH or carrot and not sweet, but rather a kind of tortilla with cooked radish .... oddly enough was good.
We need to try the chili crab that seems the most authentic, we will prove it around. In this first batch were a little afraid of how similar they were also the prices to Sydney. Note to self: a budget level, Singapore is not part of Southeast Asia. Well sadly
Singapore did not give us this for more .... with the approaching end of the journey we are entering the rush and we're already into Malaysia.
A kiss for everyone. Juan and Marta
